open-mindedness (merry christmas fuckers)

December 25th, 2009 by

I made a post a while ago where I spoke about feeling that despite the fact that I am an athiest (rather than agnostic) I still consider myself to be very open-minded (see here), perhaps moreso than people who are willing to subscribe to a belief in God.  I realize that might sound contradictory, but it’s not. In my journey’s through youtube I’ve come across this video, which does an amazing job of explaining this (far better than I ever could).

Please watch this video and please be open-minded about it. Also, the video’s author QualiaSoup, has more videos, like this one, that are very important (in my opinion).

So this is my Christmas gift to you all. Happy Holidays.

One Response to open-mindedness (merry christmas fuckers)

  1. LaoTze says:

An athiest requires just as much faith as a devout Christian, Muslim, or Buddhist. The truth of the matter is that an athiest must require as much FAITH to disbelieve in god as a theist must require to believe in god. Why? Because there is no proof of god, but their is no disproof either.

So, from a scientific point of view. It would be foolish to subscribe to any camp other than agnostic. We really don’t know. To say otherwise is foolish.

Personally, I am convinced, if god does exist, he is some cool motherfucker, he watches everything like a scientist. He doesn’t get involved. He is a detached observer, and he certainly doesn’t give a shit about me or you. For all we know this could be his tr/b/millionth universe.

Religion, on the other hand, it’s another story, it’s required. Too many stupid people require guidance. Religion was invented as a cheap way to control the dumb masses. Too bad it’s so easily manipulated.

    LaoTze
The wise ruler keeps the masses mind’s empty, but their belly’s full.
